Description
In 2004, Nike’s Jesse Leyva collaborated with KICKS/HI to create a design for the Dunk Low. Ian Ginoza, the creative force behind KICKS/HI, was given the task of representing the culture and landscape of their home state. The resulting design captured the relaxed style of beach parties and luaus with a color scheme of green, brown, and beige, along with a mid-panel made of weaved “Lauhala” bamboo. One unique aspect of this Dunk Low is the “ALOHA” label on the tongue and “HAWAII” embroidery on the heel-tab, which is a departure from the customary Nike branding. This feature is rarely seen in other releases.
