A decade and a half ago, Concepts, a retailer based in Boston, collaborated with Nike to launch a red-colored SB Dunk Low sneaker, inspired by lobsters. Subsequently, they released the same sneaker design in blue, yellow, purple, green, and orange colorways, with the latest one being the “Orange Lobster” launched last year.
Today, it has been reported that the collaboration will conclude at the end of the year with the release of a “What The Lobster” colorway, which is expected to feature a mix-and-match design based on the previous releases and unreleased samples, as depicted in the above mockup. Last year, Concepts creative director Deon Point showcased many of these sneakers. Nike has previously used the “What The” treatment on a variety of silhouettes, including the SB Dunk Low in 2007.
The rumored Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low “What The Lobster” is expected to be the final lobster-themed SB Dunk Low sneaker released by the two brands this holiday season.
