Nike will be releasing more and more Dunk colorways throughout 2023, whether or not you’re tired of them. The relentless stream of Dunk releases continues with a new colorway that evokes the appearance of Batman’s notorious adversary, the Joker. The shoe features bright purple and green uppers, a white leather base, and a yellow gum outsole, all of which combine to create a vintage Joker look.
It’s somewhat ironic to associate the Dunk silhouette with the Joker, given that the shoe has become somewhat of a running joke in the world of footwear. It was initially released as a straight-to-outlet sneaker in 2016 but eventually became a wildly popular mainstream sneaker due to the proliferation of “Panda” Dunks caused by Nike’s frequent restocks. This has somewhat affected the Dunk’s reputation, but it remains an all-time classic that is held in high regard by sneakerheads who idolized the model in the early 2000s.
